Priorities, people!

Well, we just had another day of downtime because apparently in a situation where your site has very few viewers, lan gaming > webserver. And in Matthews position, I probably would’ve done the same thing. Yesterday the site went down for a day because Matthew, myself, and Aaron Coleman were playing an internet game of…wait for it… Open Traffic Tycoon Deluxe.

Shady loses 20 man-points.

My next comic requires a little bit more than just stick figures, and as such it might be a while before its up. If its not up by the end of the month however, I promise to put together another one on the 1st of the new year, to tide you over to its completion.

Bonk!

Downtime

Hi everyone,

Recently (ie, past two weeks) we’ve had a LOT of downtime. For some bizarre reason, my laptop decided in the first week it wanted to turn itself off after 5 hours thanks to incorrect power settings. Upon returning home temporarily in the middle of my holiday, I fixed this. And then the past week we’ve had downtime for an as yet unknown reason. It seems some form of update required an automatic restart, but why that didn’t reboot properly is beyond us.

As for now, I’m able to keep the site up as much as possible because I’m home again. Hopefully this won’t happen again so we can keep the site up for everyone.

Bah, downtime

I’m sure matthew will make a more complete post about this when he gets back from his holidays, but until then all you need to know is that on sunday, the day after matthew departed for his coastal holiday, his house lost power. Subsequently, we lost the webserver, and he was not around to get it back up and running again, so we had a few days of prolonged downtime. But we’re back up now, and thats what matters. Matthew is now looking into getting a UPS so that this sort of thing doesn’t happen again.

Incidentally, a new comic is up, thanks to my recently applied comic schedule, which is so far enjoying a 100% (1/1) success rate 😉

Happy reading!

McDonalds and Bacon

by Matthew on November 26, 2008 at 4:39 pm

Here in Australia McDonalds now offers bacon on any burger for an extra dollar. Why you’d want bacon on your fillet-o-fish I dunno, but people are weird like that. Bacon truly adds a whole new dimension to the heart disease causing burgers. For instance, try a triple cheeseburger with bacon on top – it’s almost as bad as eating pure fat itself!

However, we got bored of simply eating a triple cheeseburger, fries, and a coke. So we took $5, went to the counter, and asked for $5 of bacon! Now, this is totally unheard of… I mean, why bother when you can simply buy 3 times the amount of bacon and make it yourself! That is of course what the cashier told us, but we replied quickly with “yeah, but we have to cook it then!” Why would we cook it (which would’ve required walking home too) when we can buy it at McDonald’s? Not to mention, we’d need a woman to cook it for us :/

The cashier ended up serving us $5 worth of bacon, which equates to 5 rashers. It was really good bacon, better than anything the supermarkets could do… Which is funny, considering it’s McDonalds. Maybe it’s because they were dripping in fat.

Next time you go to McDonalds ask for bacon! Maybe they’ll get the hint and serve eggs too. Imagine that – bacon and eggs at McDonalds!

(Note: “us” in this does not refer to Matthew and James but rather Matthew and a couple of his mates.)

Uh oh…

I really don’t like working to a schedule when it comes to humour. I like to just live my life, and write down everything awesome that i come up with. However I have come to realise that this means I generally don’t write any comics…so i’ve decided to give myself a schedule. From now on, on the 1st of every month, i’m going to upload a comic!

Note: This is going to be AS WELL AS my random update schedule so far, i’m not going to be all “i’m giving myself a schedule” just to REDUCE the amount of comics I do. So its still worth checking back occasionally to see what i’ve come out with.

Also, if you’re in america read that as the last of every month, because y’all are so backwards. (Joking (no, actually i’m not)). I might upgrade it to fortnightly, weekly, or tri-weekly eventually, but right now I have NO idea how this is going to turn out, so I’m playing it convervatively. Wish me luck! =D
